introduction

Hi everyone,

Thank you for all the support on last week's blog post and last week's content. We really appreciate it!

This week, we wanted to tell our founding story at Voices Meet Minds, since it is key to understanding where we're at right now and how we want to grow and move forward as an organization.

Feelings AS our foundation

Voices Meet Minds didn't start as a nonprofit. It started as a feeling. A feeling that people were carrying so much inside them with nowhere safe to share it.

Years ago, as students, friends, and young people navigating mental health challenges in our lives, we kept noticing the same gap:

There were resources.

There were diagnoses.

There were statistics.

But there weren't enough stories.

There weren't clear safe spaces for people to say:

"This is what it feels like to live inside my mind."

Voices Meet Minds was created to hold that space.

LIVED Experience is Valid

Voices Meet Minds is a space where lived experience matters. Where vulnerability is not something to be fixed, but something to be listened to. Where mental health is not reduced to labels, but understood through human voices.

Over time, the organization has grown, paused, changed shape, and grown again. Much like the people behind it.

What began as a small student-led initiative has evolved into a platform focused on all ages in storytelling, education, and breaking stigma through authentic connection.

Acknowledging and Building

At it's core, Voices Meet Minds' mission has remained the same:

To meet people where they are.

To let their voices be heard.

And to remind one another that no one is alone in what they carry.

We're still building.

Still learning.

Still listening.

And we're grateful you're here with us, each and every step of the way.

Conclusion

If you made it this far, thank you so much for reading.
